July 3rd picnic

We'll skip ahead in time just a bit so you can see the 'Freedom Wall' we made at church. I'll go back and fill in the gaps later, but this was kinda neat. We were supposed to paint a brick for people in our family who are either in the service now or who were in the past. The people in charge wanted to see if we could get back to the Revolutionary War with our relatives. Only 2 of us from church did. (I don't know if there were others, but only 2 of us bothered to paint a brick.) Here are a couple of pictures.

Notice that 2 of our bricks are on the top!

For the Brewster family! (I made this one)For Grandpa (Rachel made this one)Uncle Bob (Sarah made this one)For Grandpa!! Andrew made this brick. He said right away that he wanted to paint a brick for Grandpa :)

I think the bricks turned out really well. I wasn't sure what a Freedom Wall was, but that was pretty neat, too. I'm assuming that we will be able to take the bricks home with us in a couple of days--I don't know what they would do with them at church. Maybe we can put them in the garden as stepping stones.

Rachel (the one with hair in her face already!!) and Haven kinda matched! I think the dress on Haven was from Grandma W. for Rachel a couple of years ago. The dress on Rachel was Grandma H.'s that I cut down for her. (Haven wore her 4th of July dress from Grandma H. the day before.)Haven playing in the nursery at church

Ethan being a goofball at the end of the day ;)

She finally decided to fall asleep for a few minutes!!

I'll try to get some other pictures on here from June in the next week or so. It takes some time to do it and I'm still trying to wrap up school and get other things done. But, I haven't forgotten about the blog. I really do want to keep this updated for you. The kids grow so quickly.

Friday School Field Day

At the end of the school year, we usually have a Field Day. The kids get together and compete in a bunch of different games. It's almost always scorching hot; however, this year, we had perfect weather!! We were so thankful for that. Here are a few pictures from the day.

The Blue Team (Rachel, Sarah, Andrew, Peter)

The Red Team (Ethan, Daniel, and Nathan)

The guy in charge of running the games :)

Ethan and his buddy, Matthew Muzzi

Haven was so good all day :)

Three-Legged Race--Rachel

Three-Legged Race--Andrew

Three-Legged Race--Peter

Three-Legged Race--Daniel

Three-Legged Race--Nathan

Ethan and Matthew again :) They were so cute together all day!

Daddy and Haven

Spoke Tackle--basically, it's a time for the kids to run around in the circle and tackle each other in order to prevent the other team from getting back to the line first. It gets vicious!

Guess what Ethan got on his wet-from-swimming-in-the-pool-after-mom-just-changed-his-clothes legs?!?!? Dandelion seeds :)

The little stinker didn't want his picture taken. HA! I got him anyway :)

Nathan's birthday!!!!!!!!!

Happy 15th Birthday to Nathan on May 2!! I can't believe how fast the time flies, but our firstborn is now 15 years old. I have changed diapers every day now for 15 years--no, not Nathan's!! We have had at least one, sometimes two babies in diapers for 15 years straight! Wow.

Grandma decided to make him a birthday pillow case

He also got a teddy bear--long story, but now he
has a bear for Christmas like the other kids!
His favorite present from Grandma and Grandpa
Nathan blowing out candles--notice sweet, little Ethan watching him!
Nathan with his airsoft gun from DAD
(Mom is in no way connected with this!!)

Happy Birthday, Nathan!! Just think, only 15 more years until you can drive and get married :) You're halfway there!!

FISH!!

Sarah and Rachel decided that they wanted to buy a fish tank with their birthday money (thanks Mom and Dad!). They've been bugging me the past several Saturdays--when we go to Meijers and they see the fish. So, today, I finally gave in and said Yes! Of course, Tom got the honor of setting it up when we got home. We have 4 goldfish right now, but we'll see how long they last. We may try a different type of fish later--if these don't survive :) Here's a picture of the tank.
